"Return of Parakeet...Was that your own original word adoption?"
Yep, I made it up all by myself.
Anyone else want to adapt a song?
once more ... with feeling!.
"the brooklyn blues" (sung to melody of "those were the days").
once upon a time there was a towerwhere we used to drink from eight to two.remember how we slaved away the hours, and dreamed of all the great things god would do.. then the crushing years went crawling by us,we kept our screwy doctrines on the way.. if by chance i'd see you in the tower,.

If by chance I'd see you in the Tower,
We'd smirk at one another and we'd say --
These are Last Days, my Friend,
We know they soon will end,
We'll preach and shun till God calls it a day.
We'll live the life they choose,
We'll fight and always lose,
These are Last Days, oh yes, these are the days.
La la la la ...
Just tonight I stood before the Tower,
Everything's the way it used to be.
In the glass I saw a strange reflection,
A dub who now is really free.
Through the door there came a stream of robots,
I saw your face but then forgot your name.
Oh poor dub, you're older but no wiser,
For in your heart the lies are still the same.
These are the days, ex-Friend,
You're still convinced they'll end,
You think you'll live forever and a day.
You live the life they choose,
You fight and always lose,
These are the days, oh yes, these are the days
La la la la ...
(Apologies to Mary Hopkin)
a friend of mine recently found out a few years back that she had an aggressive form of breast cancer.
she went to many doctors, but all of them told her she had to have a mastectomy and undergo radiation therapy.
that seemed really unappealing to her.
Apt parable.
Too bad Angie's List doesn't provide information about religions as it does about doctors.
for a religion that claims to be "fearless and bold" the watchtower has avoided writing about islam and muslim practices and how they are part of babylon the great.
the attacks on christendom are not a bold move because the "tower" and "gb" know the christian church is not going to send a suicide bomber into a kingdom or district convention.
it's not fair to christendom to receive all the hate speech from the "leaning tower of brooklyn", why don't they write the truth about islam?
The WTS prefers targets that don't shoot back.
Cowards.
i fully realize the revisionist history about 1919 and it has been well documented.. but what i took out of the first article about the chain of events during the great tribulation makes sense and is encouraging.. i could never understand that after doing nothing for 2000 years jehovah a god of love would wipe out 8 billion men ,women and children without given a genuine chance.
so what happens, the u.n. goes after organized religion [do'nt ask me how] then jesus starts judging.. does'nt the bible say that all who call on the name of jehovah will be saved?
so people will have a clearcut path to choose, either put their trust in god or the nations.
"... would you come back on board if you saw an actual prophecy fulfilled? "
How would one tell if a WT "prophecy" came true?
Even if the UN were to attack organized religions, however unlikely that would be, it could do so for any number of reasons, not necessarily "fulfilling" a dub expectation.
Short of God showing up and thundering, "The dubs have The Truth. Obey or die," I would never go back.
Even if God were to show up, I still wouldn't go back. I'd rather be nonexistent than be a dub.
according to the wt the 144000 have to die to obtain their heavenly reward?
but which part of them goes to heaven?.
their body can't and doesn't.
VillageGirl: " And atheists here, are here for what reason? I can't imagine why they bother. "
You can't imagine why atheists bother?
You have a very limited imagination.

I'm guessing the elbows and toes.
Their brains are dead, and their hearts are shriveled, so God won't want those.
the mother who says having these two children is the biggest regret of her lifeisabella dutton, 57, says she wishes she had remained childless'i resented the time my children consumed.
like parasites, they took from me and didn't give back'.
isabella dutton would have been happier not having children.
"... I believe it is utterly selfish to have an only one. "
This woman is unbelievable. She coldly and publicly says her children were a mistake (a statement that I'm sure did wonders for her children's emotional well-being), and then condemns others for having only one child.
I have one grown-up son. If I were given a choice, I would raise him all over again. No lack of parental love in my house. Yet she has the gall to call someone like me selfish.
Disgusting story. I hope her children return her "affection" when she gets old and sick and needs help.
i just started reading "a.d. - after disclosure" by richard dolan.
it is an attempt to rationally predict what will ( or would, depending on your viewpoint) happen when authorities around the world admit that extraterrestrials exist and first contact happens.. will markets crash?
will religions collapse?
Satanus (quoting the review of "Darwin's Doubt"):
" Meyer argues that the origin of this information, as well as other mysterious features of the Cambrian event, are best explained by intelligent design, rather than purely undirected evolutionary processes."
It's the old god-in-the-cracks argument. If science can't explain something, then instead of maintaining an open mind, believers say that the unaccountable must be evidence of God or some other supernatural entity.
It's getting hard for "God" to peek through those narrowing cracks. But "he" keeps on trying anyway.
its been 4.5 years since i faded, how likely is it that i will get a 'visit' from the elders dont know why but it seems to be on my mind lately like i am having a premonition lol..
I've been "fading" for 34 years and am still waiting for the elders to call.
The feelings of being pursued will fade in time.
